Stewart has more than 28 years of experience with Bank of America where he was president of the Bank of America Specialized Lending Group. In 2004 he founded Stewart M. Long Financial, LLC providing consulting services to the financial services industry in the asset-based lending and factoring arenas.

In 2009 Stewart partnered with two former Bank of America colleagues to form Stewart M. Long & Associates, LLC providing financial assessment services for financial institutions, private equity firms and middle market companies. Stewart received a BA in History from Tulane University, became a lieutenant in the US Navy and earned an MBA in Finance from Georgia State University. He graduated from the Advanced Management Program, Harvard University.

Stewart is the former chairman of Inroads Atlanta and former vice chairman of Georgians for Children.
